The Innovation home page sets the tone for visitor’s web experience. The page displays scannable content, making accessible various aspects of the WashU innovation story.

Text home feature

[tk content: is text home feature block here or on Doc Central] Within the Text Home Feature block, the hero text and lead in text work together to send a clear message to site visitors about the vision for innovation at WashU and the purpose of this website.

Impact dashboard preview

This area displays highlights from the Innovation Impact Dashboard and encourages visitors to click through to view all the data in the impact dashboard.

This area uses the By the numbers block with the previous fiscal year’s data.

To edit the red call to action, refer to the Button block tutorial.

Featured video

The purpose of this block is to display a video spotlight with a call to action linking to OTM. At launch, this area uses the Wide media spotlight block featuring the OTM video.

To update the video, click anywhere within the block then navigate to the sidebar and paste the video’s url in the field labeled YouTube or Vimeo video URL.

Use this section to feature a startup and its corresponding sector. The call to action encourages visitors to click through to the Innovations page.

The section uses the Photo spotlight block. Consult the Photo spotlight block tutorial to update.

Featured sector

Use this section to feature a particular sector. The call to action encourages visitors to click to a page that lists all the WashU startups and highlights in that sector. By including both highlights and startups, a visitor gets a sense of WashU’s impact in these particular verticals.

This area uses the Wide media spotlight block. To update what sector is featured, consult the Wide media spotlight block tutorial.

Did you know?

Use this section to feature two or three highlights. The call to action encourages visitors to click to a page that lists all the innovation highlights (news stories) that have been added to the site.

This section uses the Clips block to automatically display the latest 2-3 highlights published on the site. For more details, consult the Clip block tutorial.

Social feature

Use this section to feature a particular social post. The call to action encourages visitors to click through to @WashUInnovation on Twitter.

This area uses the Social feature block. To update the content in this area, refer to the Social feature block tutorial.

Announcements

This section uses the Announcements block to automatically display the latest three Announcements published on the site in reverse chronological order.

Student callout

Use this section to redirect students to the Skandalaris Center for content that is more student-focused. This content is evergreen but should you need to change the text or link, consult the Callout block tutorial.
