(e.g., Here is Chancellor Andrew Martin. Andrew Martin is Washington University\u2019s chancellor.)<\/li><li>In general, when academic degree abbreviations are used, do not include periods.<\/li><li>The official title of the majority of university departments takes a \u201cDepartment of\u201d construction.<\/li><li>Phone number format is xxx-xxx-xxxx.<\/li><li>Use a.m. and p.m., single digit times for hours (8, not 8:00).<\/li><li>Links should open in the same window<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/publicaffairs.wustl.edu\/resources\/editorial-news-media\/public-affairs-writing-style-manual\/\">The full University Marketing and Communications style manual is available on the MarComm website.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Additional guidelines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Avoid creating FAQs whenever possible.
