The home page sets the tone for visitor’s web experience. The page displays scannable content, making accessible various aspects of the CAO’s operations.

Photo Home Feature

Within the Photo Home Feature block, a striking image and headline text work together to send a clear message to site visitors about the CAO’s priorities.

Up to 5 slides can be added, and each can have their own unique image and/ or headline. The slides display in a random order each time the page is visited or refreshed.

Group: Headline, intro paragraph, and button blocks

The purpose of these blocks are to give context to and welcome visitors to the site.

This area displays a heading block with an underline, a paragraph block that gives a brief introduction, and a button block to take visitors in to the Mission and Values portion of the site.

About the CAO

The purpose of this block is to introduce visitors to the CAO with a photo, brief message, and call to action to view the whole message from the CAO. At launch, this area uses the square photo spotlight block.

Divisions

This section is meant to list out all of the divisions overseen by the CAO with a call to action that takes visitors to the Divisions page. At launch, this area used:

Latest news

Use this section to feature the latest news posts that have been added to the site. It uses the section heading with link block followed by the latest post block.

The latest post block is set to:

  • list view
  • 3 columns
  • display featured image and display date
  • order by newest to oldest
  • select the “news” category
  • Limit number of posts to 3

Strategic goals

At launch, the next section highlighted the CAO’s strategic goals.

The section uses Column block with the border option selected and 4 columns. Each then has a thumbnail icon as an image block below which is a paragraph block using the lead styling.

Beneath the column block is a button block that links to the Strategic Priorities page.

Featured video

The final block on the homepage at launch was the YouTube block, which featured Shantay Bolton’s section on the Strategic Plan video.
