How to add a list of events to a page

  1. Create a new page or edit an existing one.
  2. Click the + button to add a new block to insert the Events List block on the page.
  3. Customize the block’s settings as needed.
    • Number of Events – Use the slider to select how many events you want the list to show. We suggest displaying a small set of 3-4 if you are featuring them on a page paired with descriptive content about the list.
    • Category – Search or select from Event Categories you have created.
    • Display past events – Turn this selection on or off. If turned on, the list will only display past events.
    • Choose fields to display – Select to display the Location, Excerpt, and/or Featured image. Keep in mind that the more information that is displayed will increase the height that the block takes up on your page or post.
  4. Preview your page or post to see how the Events list looks.
  5. Publish your page or post to make the Events list visible to visitors.

Create context for events

In order to help users understand what type of events are included in your list, you may want to pair it with other blocks. We suggest placing an H6 style Heading block before the Event list and giving it a title like “Upcoming Events” or “Program Events” to describe the list. If you have selected specific Event Categories for the list to display, you may want to use those in your heading.

Link to more events

Additionally, we suggest adding a Text with Arrow Button below the Event list and linking it to the Event Category roll up or the Events roll up page. This will assist users in accessing a longer list of events if it is difficult to display them all due to space constraints.

Event Category link

  1. Navigate to Event Categories under the Events tab and select “View” next to the Category you need.
  2. Copy the URL of this page and add it to your Text with Arrow button.
