{"id":2170,"date":"2024-09-23T16:52:20","date_gmt":"2024-09-23T16:52:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/digitaldocumentation.wustl.edu\/web-design-system-documentation\/?page_id=108"},"modified":"2024-09-23T17:08:30","modified_gmt":"2024-09-23T17:08:30","slug":"paragraph","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/digitaldocumentation.wustl.edu\/momentum\/blocks\/paragraph\/","title":{"rendered":"Paragraph"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"is-style-lead\">As the foundation of the block editor, you will use the paragraph block for the majority of your formatting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to use the paragraph block<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Add a paragraph block to the page or post you\u2019re working on (or simply begin typing on the page!).<\/li><li>Add basic styling (<strong>bold&nbsp;<\/strong>or<strong>&nbsp;italics<\/strong>) and&nbsp;<strong>alignment<\/strong>&nbsp;options&nbsp;by highlighting the text and selecting from the toolbar at the top of the block.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Special formatting styles in the paragraph block<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Select&nbsp;<strong>Styles<\/strong>&nbsp;from the panel on the right to apply a special format to any paragraph block:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Disclaimer<\/strong>:&nbsp;Used at the bottom of a page for legal text, disclaimers or footnotes, disclaimer text will appear in italics and smaller than the body copy.<\/li><li><strong>Lead:<\/strong>&nbsp;Typically used at the top of a page to format two to three lines of text in larger, gray text.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pro Tip<\/strong>: Pressing Enter\/Return will create a new paragraph block.
